Emma Watson for Vogue Italy October 2008

Emma Watson’s model moment for Vogue Italia is beautiful yet so sad. The photos were taken by Mark Selinger and Emma herself confessed that he pushed her to give the best in the photo shoot so she didn’t get any special treatment.
At least that’s the official story! Anyway, the girl has her ways with fashion and the 2007 InStyle pictorial was proof enough! The photos look rather dark and even if she smiles here and there, it doesn’t make up for the picture where she’s holding the doll, where she’s up on the window, where she’s near the lake. Otherwise she looks every inch the smart girl she is, bonus her beauty. You take a look at the pictures and tell me what she looks like and what’s the feeling you get from the images!

Miley Cyrus signs on for new film

Miley Cyrus has signed on to star in a new and still untitled Nicholas Sparks film, US Magazine reported. The role is being written especially for the 15-year-old “Hannah Montana” starlet. After meeting with Disney execs, Miley named Sparks’ “A Walk to Remember” as an example of projects she’d want to headline. So Sparks agreed to write a novel (due in fall 2009) and screenplay adaptation for the film. Sparks told Variety that the Cyrus fam was “very familiar with the work I’ve done in the past. That played a role in this project coming together.” Miley’s mother, Tish, is serving as the flick’s executive producer.

Emma Watson is a National Movie Award Angel

Emma Watson (in Alexander McQueen) poses at the National Movie Awards at the Royal Festival Hall on Monday in London, England.

The Harry Potter star has reportedly dished out £1 million on a ski chalet in the fashionable French resort of Meribel, according to The Telegraph.

“The house is Emma’s way of celebrating her recent straight As at A-level and finally getting her hands on some of her hard-earned cash. She worked really hard this year and didn’t have much of a birthday party so this was her present to herself,” a friend said.

“Like her co-stars, Emma has received some pretty sound advice about money. She always wanted a ski chalet and she’s having a great time doing it up. She’s looking forward to having friends to stay.”

No sex, no drugs, just rock n' roll: Are the Jonas Brothers the world's cleanest cut band?

As a contender for the title of teen pop sensation, it is hard to imagine a more unlikely group – three sons of an American pastor who don't drink, smoke or swear, and have vowed not to have sex before marriage.

But judging by the screams greeting the Jonas Brothers in London yesterday, our tweenage girls don't mind their idols a little strait-laced.

The brothers, who all wear silver 'purity rings' to mark their determination to remain virgins until marriage, were greeted by a crowd of 1,000 school-age fans outside Royal Festival Hall.

Three of a kind: The Jonas Brothers, from left, Kevin, Joe and Nick, hold court in London

Jostling and squealing, the girls strained to catch a glimpse of the trio at the British premiere of their film, Camp Rock.

You could almost taste the hysteria: every face was painted, every arm held out a mobile phone to capture the moment, and every heart carried a secret prayer of desire.

The most ardent fans talk about having OJD – Obsessive Jonas Disorder – and it was very much in evidence yesterday.

This JoBroMania is more than just enthusiasm for another boyband. It is the most curious phenomenon in popular culture: the deliberate selling of rock'n'roll without sex or drugs.

The brothers – Kevin, 20, Joe, 19, and Nick, 15 – play their own instruments and write their songs, but are perhaps best understood as a modern-day cross between the Osmonds and the Monkees.

Like the Osmonds, their clean-living values and religious background appeal to parents, while like the Monkees, they are backed by a PR machine that ruthlessly controls their image.

No wonder Russell Brand found them such an irresistible target at the MTV video music awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles.

While hosting the awards, the British comedian produced a ring on stage and implied, with showstopping poor taste, that he had taken the virginity of the youngest Jonas brother.

'Nick was a bit reluctant at first,' joked Brand, 'but after a bit he realised that it was for the best.'

So happy I could scream: A young fan in a frenzy after seeing her idols

The comedian was reprimanded by American Idol winner and fellow purity ring wearer Jordin Sparks, who said: 'It's not bad to wear a promise ring because not everybody, guy or girl, wants to be a slut!'

Brand made an apology, which the brothers accepted.

The Jonas Brothers can afford to be generous because they are surfing on a squeaky clean wave, following where the tweenage sensations High School Musical and Hannah Montana have led.

It is no coincidence that Disney own all three blockbusting properties. Executives there have realised there is a mass market ripe for the picking – and untold riches.

The Jonas Brothers are said to have made £7million in the past year alone, releasing two multi-platinum albums and a record-breaking string of hit singles.

So who are they, and what are the secrets of their success? Kevin, Joe and Nick grew up in Wycoff, New Jersey, where their father, Kevin Jonas Snr, was an evangelical pastor and their mother, Denise, a sign-language teacher.

There is also a younger brother, Frankie, seven, who is not part of the band but is rather sweetly known as 'bonus Jonas'.

The band came into being when Nick was discovered singing in a barber shop at six and sent to a talent agent. By the age of seven, he was performing on Broadway.

Schoolgirl crush: A besotted fan shows her feelings

Schoolgirl crush: More besotted fans show their feelings

He had a solo career, releasing a single co-written with his father and a 'spiritual' album in 2005.

Subsequently, the three eldest brothers decided to team up and release an album through Columbia Records in 2007. It was not a success and the label dropped them.

But this being a Disney story, a happy ending wasn't far away. The brothers were soon picked up by Hollywood Records, part of the Disney empire, and have not looked back since.

After appearing in a guest slot on Hannah Montana they released an album which sold 1.4million copies, followed by a sequel which has sold more than a million so far.

A source at their label says: 'Their clean-cut image is something that parents like and the feedback which we have from teen magazines here is that the teenagers like it too. They are very wholesome and that does appeal.'

There are the inevitable nay-sayers. James McMahon, features editor of rock magazine NME, has described the group as 'sinister and really creepy' and says the UK is 'too obsessed with sex for Jonas Brothers to be really popular'.

With respect, Mr McMahon, the thousand girls screaming on the South Bank yesterday suggest otherwise.

Lynne Spears: 'Every Mother Makes Mistakes'

Lynne Spears says that even knowing what she knows now, she would still let her daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn pursue stardom.

"I think you have to let them follow their dreams," she says in a new interview with PEOPLE. "I think it would be worse in the end if you didn't."

But she does express regrets about not listening to her "gut" at times: "Was I the perfect mom? No."

In an exclusive excerpt from her new memoir, Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World, Lynne, 53, details the highs – and lows – of her family's journey from Kentwood, La., to the harsh international spotlight. "Every mother makes mistakes," she writes, "and I'm no different."

"I wanted the truth out in my own words for myself and my family," she tells PEOPLE of writing the book, which chronicles Britney's highly publicized troubles and Jamie Lynn's pregnancy at 16. The latter, says Lynne, "was probably the hardest time in my life."

What do her kids – Britney, 26, Jamie Lynn, 17, and Bryan, 31 – think of the book?

She says Britney and Bryan have yet to read it, but "Jamie Lynn loved the book. I started to cry because I told her, 'I wanted so much for you to like it.' And she got up and kissed me on the cheek and said, 'Mama, thank you so much.'"

Lynne's once-troubled relationship with Britney "has undergone tremendous healing," she says. "We are back to four or five phone calls a day."

These days Lynne is also a doting "Me Maw" to her grandsons Preston, 3, and Jayden, 2, and granddaughter Maddie Briann, 2 months. Of Britney's boys, she says, "They are the cutest! The biggest personalities you've ever seen. Preston is the older brother and he's protective, but Jayden is tough as nails."

For more on this story, including Lynne's memories of Britney's early career and her hopes for Jamie Lynn's wedding, pick up the new issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday

Brooke only thinks she knows best

Hulk Hogan's daughter finds it hard to set a good example

The thing about intelligence is that people who possess it usually don't go around telling others how smart they are. They don't need to. They understand that their actions usually do far more to prove their intellect than any declaration ever could.

The thing about Brooke Hogan is that she spends a lot of time telling people how smart she is.

The fair-haired reality star has been in the spotlight ever since the 2005 premiere of Hogan Knows Best, a show about the day-to-day lives of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan and his immediate family. The lighthearted series quickly became a hit on American network VH1 and on MuchMoreMusic in Canada, making Hulk Hogan relevant once again and giving his family a taste of fame.

Wrestler and actor Hulk Hogan (right), with wife Linda beside him and their children Brooke and Nick.

But then the Hogans experienced a few setbacks, to use the term lightly. After nearly 24 years of marriage, Hulk and Linda Hogan began harsh divorce proceedings and Linda started dating a 19-year-old.

To make matters worse, Nick Hogan, 17, was arrested and sentenced to eight months in prison for a car crash in which his passenger suffered permanent brain damage. It's not exactly the kind of subject matter that makes for a light, fluffy reality show, so the series was retooled to focus mainly on Brooke, the Hogan family member with the least PR problems.

Now titled Brooke Knows Best, the series chronicles her experiences after moving out of her parents' house and into an apartment with friends Glenn Packard and Ashley Menendez.

"I thought of the show as an opportunity to, first of all, be a better role model for all these people that look up to these stars and stuff and idolize stars," Hogan, 20, says. "I told Ashley and Glenn, I was like, 'Guys, we have to be different than all these other people and really make a difference, whether it's with what we say or what we promote.' Whatever it is, we have to make it positive because there's so much stuff that's negative right now."

Of course, now that she's the centre of attention, Hogan is beginning to realize just how difficult it can be to set a good example. On an episode of Brooke Knows Best that recently aired south of the border, she was captured saying that she's "not that into voting" and that Hillary Clinton's presidential bid was "kinda crazy."

"Women deal with a lot of emotions and menopause and PMS and stuff," Hogan said during the episode. "Like, I'm so moody all the time, I know I couldn't be able to run a country, 'cause I'd be crying one day and yelling at people the next day, ya know?"

Unsurprisingly, her comments sparked outrage. Asked about the incident, Hogan insists that the media made an issue out of something that wasn't a big deal.

"It was just a comment taken out of context on TV and everybody ran with it.

"And honestly, people know that I'm a smart girl. People know that I care about things like this."

But expressing one's ambivalence towards voting doesn't exactly create an image of an educated, concerned citizen.

"The thing is, is that, like, almost half of Americans that are registered to vote don't even vote and the other half of them make uneducated voting decisions," she replies. "It's like, I would just rather know what I'm talking about, know what I'm doing and then really make a wise decision for our country. Instead of like, 'Oh! I'm voting for Obama because he's cool.' I want to be more in the loop, you know?"

Fair enough. Many would agree that it's often better to make no decision at all than make the wrong one. But setting aside any specific issues or facts, surely Hogan has a rough idea of which qualities she wants in a future president.

"Somebody that would bring home our troops, first of all," she says. "And start making right decisions for our country instead of making selfish decisions."

"Like I said, I'm not up-to-date on this stuff."

For a minute, it feels almost cruel to be hounding Hogan about this. She's had a pretty difficult year.

But unfortunately, Hogan's publicists have made it clear that she will not answer any questions about her parents' divorce or her brother's jail sentence, so to avoid talking about her "music career" for 20 minutes, any crises of conscience must be ignored. After all, Hogan did say that she sees Brooke Knows Best as her way to be a role model -- surely a good role model would see the value in learning about the issues, especially in an election year.

"Yeah, yeah, of course," she acknowledges. "I do want to vote. But, you know, I don't want to make a stupid decision. I want to know what I'm talking about and right now, my life is so crazy that I don't even turn on my TV."

Brooke Knows Best airs Sundays at 5 p.m. PT on MuchMoreMusic.

At last - Emma Watson gets her jugs out for all to see

Star of the Harry Totty movies, Emma Watson, has finally conceded to pressure from the Sun, Star and Daily Telegraph and has decided to publicly display her jugs for the first time.

Following a month of tense negotiation with picture editors at the daily newspaper as well as at the Star and Sun, Emma will show readers full-frontal, close-up photos of her jugs.

She said: "I am, of course, delighted with the money. However, I'm not too sure that I really should be showing my jugs in public, despite the media attention and everyone claiming that they are a really fine rounded pair, worthy of showing off.

"I now have to consider the insurance implications of this, and expect my policy to rise, which I'm lead to believe is not the only thing that may rise, especially for male readers, as a result of this exposure, even though I use the insurance comparison website gogetconned.com

"My two jugs, were made by Thomas Shepherd in London in 1773. They're a matching pair of round, George III, silver cream jugs and are worth several thousand pounds because he never really made any in pairs. Unlike the shoemakers of the time. They made a lot of shoes in pairs. Except of course for pirates with only one leg. That's not fair you know, if you only have one leg you can't go into a shoe shop where there's a "buy one get one free" offer because you'd end up with a spare shoe for a foot you haven't got.

"Anyway, anyone who wants to really, really see my jugs at very close quarters, I will have them out for the public at the Omnicrom Gallery in Penge from next weekend."
