Maddie’s middle name Briann is an ode to Casey’s cousin Brian, who died in a car accident a week before her birth, and Jamie Lynn’s brother Bryan. As for her first name, dad gets all the credit.

Maddie is a name that Casey thought of, and I really liked it,” Jamie Lynn Spears says.

Jamie Lynn Spears: "Good Job, Brit"

Jamie Lynn Spears tuned into the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night to watch her big sister Britney open the show -- and go on to win three Moonmen.


"[Jamie Lynn Spears] is good job Brit... I thought you looked amazing," the 17-year-old mom wrote in a Facebook status update.


Britney, 26, won her first Moonmen during the show: Video of the Year, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.

"I'm speechless," she said. "Oh, my goodness, thank you! I first wanna thank God for blessing me like this. My family... my two beautiful boys for inspiring me everyday."


Britney also reunited with onetime BFF Paris Hilton at the awards.

"She looked beautiful," Hilton told Usmagazine.com. "I'm so happy for her. She definitely deserves it."

Lynne Spears: 'Every Mother Makes Mistakes'

Lynne Spears says that even knowing what she knows now, she would still let her daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn pursue stardom.

"I think you have to let them follow their dreams," she says in a new interview with PEOPLE. "I think it would be worse in the end if you didn't."

But she does express regrets about not listening to her "gut" at times: "Was I the perfect mom? No."

In an exclusive excerpt from her new memoir, Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World, Lynne, 53, details the highs – and lows – of her family's journey from Kentwood, La., to the harsh international spotlight. "Every mother makes mistakes," she writes, "and I'm no different."

"I wanted the truth out in my own words for myself and my family," she tells PEOPLE of writing the book, which chronicles Britney's highly publicized troubles and Jamie Lynn's pregnancy at 16. The latter, says Lynne, "was probably the hardest time in my life."

What do her kids – Britney, 26, Jamie Lynn, 17, and Bryan, 31 – think of the book?

She says Britney and Bryan have yet to read it, but "Jamie Lynn loved the book. I started to cry because I told her, 'I wanted so much for you to like it.' And she got up and kissed me on the cheek and said, 'Mama, thank you so much.'"

Lynne's once-troubled relationship with Britney "has undergone tremendous healing," she says. "We are back to four or five phone calls a day."

These days Lynne is also a doting "Me Maw" to her grandsons Preston, 3, and Jayden, 2, and granddaughter Maddie Briann, 2 months. Of Britney's boys, she says, "They are the cutest! The biggest personalities you've ever seen. Preston is the older brother and he's protective, but Jayden is tough as nails."

Jamie Lynn Spears’ fiance has cold feet, may be a cheater

The rumors surrounding teen mom Jamie Lynn Spears’ 19-year-old fiance and baby daddy, Casey Aldridge, are getting louder than ever. In Touch is reporting that Casey not only is having second thoughts about marrying Jamie Lynn because he feels “trapped,” but he’s also been fooling around with another woman for months.

But insiders say the teen parents of baby Maddie are having serious relationship trouble- and now Casey is anxious about the nuptials, which are scheduled for the end of the year. “Casey is not happy right now,” reveals a pal. “He feels trapped. He’s just miserable.”

The pal says that Casey, 19, feels like he’s being forced to marry Jamie Lynn, 17, because they have a child together.

“He was told it’s the right thing to do,” the pal explained. “But it’s not the life he pictured for himself.”

Oh, boo hoo. I’m sure this isn’t the life that Jamie Lynn, who was 16 at the time she got pregnant and enjoying a successful acting career, pictured for herself either. But she’s sucking it up and trying to make the best of it, unlike the panty waste who impregnated her. In Touch also has an exclusive interview with Kelli Dawson, Casey’s former girlfriend who claims that she was “hooking up” with Aldridge throughout Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy, until a few months before she delivered Maddie. Dawson claims that Jamie Lynn knew about the affair and was furious.

In an exclusive interview with In Touch, 28-year-old Kelli Dawson reveals that she and Casey, 19, were romantically involved — and were still sleeping together when Jamie Lynn, now 17, was six months pregnant with his child. No fleeting hookup, Casey and Kelli’s relationship was both real and lasting — and it grew in intensity, even as Jamie Lynn announced she was pregnant. And, Kelli says, they still meet up on a regular basis. “I see him all the time, at least once a week,” she shares.

The pair first met in November 2006, at the home of her sister, Kim Toller. At the time, Casey was already dating Jamie Lynn, but the sexual chemistry between Casey and Kelli was instant. “We were both really attracted to each other,” Kelli reveals. “He totally instigated it and pursued me. His friends would tell me that he liked me, that he thought I was pretty.” The couple saw each other a few times and “kissed randomly,” but it wasn’t really “hot and heavy,” Kelli admits, until the spring of 2007. Though Casey and Jamie Lynn were still involved, Kelli insists, “You never knew if they were broken up or not, because it changed from day to day!”

The pair didn’t bother to hide their relationship. “Kelli and Casey have been a couple on and off for a few years,” confirms Jason Alexander, Britney Spears’ first husband and a native of nearby Kentwood, La. “They were a really tight couple, but I think it was hard for Kelli, having Jamie Lynn in the picture.”

Kelli says she and Casey stopped sleeping together a few months before Jamie Lynn gave birth to their daughter, Maddie. “It just didn’t feel right,” she explains. “He had to deal with the baby coming, and it had to stop.” She says the last time the couple had sex together was in March but “even after we stopped having sex, we would still kiss occasionally.”

If this story is true, it’s a far cry from the “perfect” life Jamie Lynn blathered on about in her interview with OK! Magazine in July. I knew that was a big fake just by how awkward Casey looked in those photos. However, this is “In Touch” we’re talking about here- they rarely get anything right. The cover of that issue features a photo of Casey tongue kissing some skanky-looking ho, but it’s impossible to know when that photo was taken- just like it’s very difficult to know if this girl is telling the truth. The article does feature a quote from Britney Spears’ first husband, Jason Alexander, but that guy would say anything to be in the tabloids again. All I can say is, if Jamie Lynn has even a whiff that this story is partially true, she should not marry this kid.

Miley to be spokesperson for condoms

Fresh-faced jailbait Miley Cyrus has been offered a million dollars to promote LifeStyles condoms. Hummm, LifeStyles apparently sees no difficulties with having a 15-year-old girl as the face of their product.

This approach is probably highly illegal but when taking a look from the other side you will see that the condom company is concerned about high levels of teenage pregnancies.

With recent reports showing that one out of four teenage girls has an STD and the high level of teenage pregnancy, we believe that Miley is both influential and relatable to this afflicted set - and is the obvious choice to get the message of safe sex out to teens across America.”

Now that sounds different!

LifeStyles condoms is offering Miley Cyrus $1 million and a lifetime supply of condoms to be the company’s spokesperson.

So that’s alright then?

According to a press release, LifeStyles supports Miley’s decision to remain a virgin until she’s married and doesn’t want her to become another Jamie Lynn Spears. The release states:

With teenage pregnancy running rampant throughout the U.S., LifeStyles Condoms wants to ensure that Miley Cyrus and her legions of loyal fans don’t become just more statistics.”

The lifetime supply of condoms comes in only after Miley decides the time is right to lose her v-card, so she wouldn’t actually be promoting how great the condoms are, since she wouldn’t know with her lack of experience.

Meet Baby Maddie!

Since giving birth on June 19 to baby girl Maddie Briann Aldridge, Jamie Lynn Spears has taken to doing what any good first time mom would do — making sure her brand new daughter has everything she needs.

And, in an exclusive interview and photoshoot, the younger sister of Britney Spears tells OK! that being away from the shining lights of Hollywood is making it all easier to learn the ins and outs of first-time motherhood. “Around here, everyone has the same focus,” Jamie Lynn tells OK!. “The focus is family, and that’s a good way to live.”

The 17-year-old actress opens up to OK! about everything — from taking parenting classes to life inside the new home she shares with Maddie and boyfriend Casey Aldridge, to her first experience with labor pains.

“They’d told me it would be an eight- to 12-hour labor, and I was ready to have the baby in three to four hours,” Jamie Lynn tells OK!. “I had a perfect pregnancy and a perfect delivery. I was very blessed.”

While the former Zoey 101 star and her fiancé have not yet set a date for their wedding, the couple remains closer than ever. Jamie Lynn, who tells OK! that while her labor was induced, she gave birth naturally and without complications, says that Casey was the one person she wanted in the delivery room with her.

“Once I got in there, my doctor was just so calm and so good it was not bad at all,” she says. “I was just talking to Casey. And you know what’s so weird? I was asking him if he was okay. He was like, ‘Yeah.’ We were both so excited.”

A baby nursery is set up for little Maddie at the other end of the house, but for now her proud parents like having her next to them at night, so she sleeps in a bassinet in the same room as Jamie Lynn and Casey.

“She is very good,” says Jamie Lynn. “She’ll feed every two or three hours. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, I’ll feed her and she goes right back to sleep. There’s no screaming and crying.”

The proud mama continues, “We get up in the morning, and she gets her little bath. Then I get my bath. We have a routine, and I love routines. I’ve worked one out with her, and we’re happy going about our little life.”

Jamie Lynn Spears Shows Off New Engagement Ring to Friends

Mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears is sporting some sparkling new jewelry – an engagement ring from fiancé Casey Aldridge.

Spears, 16, has been flashing the rock to friends and family around Louisiana and Mississippi, a source close to the family tells PEOPLE.

"She's got an engagement ring," the source says. "She's been showing it off, talking about it."

Spears and her 18-year-old fiancé are expecting the baby this summer. No official word yet on a wedding date for the couple.

Solange Knowles to Jamie Lynn Spears: I Feel Ya

A sympathetic Solange Knowles says knows the challenge of being a famous teen mother. Or at least a teen mother.
Solange, 21, welcomed son Daniel in 2004 at the age of 18 (she split with husband, former football player Daniel Smith, after the baby was born).
“I’m sure a lot of people perceived that I was gonna be a young, irresponsible mom,” Beyonce’s sister told Us Weekly recently.
“I think that there are moms who are 35 who are just as irresponsible.”
What advice does Solange have for the 17-year-old pregnant Jamie Lynn Spears (whose baby bump is really starting to show)?

“You just have to make the best decisions for you,” Knowles said. “You have to decide what’s best for you. Who are we to say what’s right and wrong for a person?”
To focus on raising her son, Solange Knowles said she “moved to the country for a year” without any nannies or babysitters.
“My parents lived on a whole opposite part of the world,” she said. “My son has been my focus ever since the day he was born. He’s been the light of my life,” she added, “the inspiration behind everything.”
Sounds like good advice from another star’s younger sister who has been there. At least Jamie Lynn has Casey Aldridge around to help out, as well.
