Chris Brown Top Dog at American Music Awards

Alicia Keys may have led the way with five American Music Awards nominations, but it was Chris Brown who stole the show Sunday night.

The singer scooped up three trophies, including male soul/R&B artists, male pop/rock artist and the big kahuna, artist of the year.

Keys converted album nods in pop/rock and soul/R&B into wins for her disc As I Am. Not to be outdone, Brown's gal pal Rihanna snatched two awards, female artist in both the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories.

Another double winner for the evening was Kanye West, who threw no temper tantrums this time around. Bitter last year at losing male rap/hip-hop artist, West took home the honor this year, but offered it up to Lil Wayne.

The rapper also won rap/hip-hop album for Graduation, and in typical West fashion, likened himself and his colleagues to the Beatles, declaring, "I want to be Elvis."

It was also a banner night for American Idol grads. Daughtry picked up its fourth AMA, this time in pop/rock band/group/duo, while Jordin Sparks was named adult contemporary artists and Carrie Underwood's Carnival Ride scored country album.

Underwood was stunned in the female country artist race by Taylor Swift, whose own ex-beau Joe Jonas and his bros won an AMA of their own for breakthrough artist.

Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts rounded out the country champs.

One guaranteed winner of the night was Annie Lennox, who was given the Award of Merit by Justin Timberlake and performed a show-stopping number.

Other performers included Christina Aguilera, the Jonas Brothers, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Beyonce, Alicia Keys and birthday girl Miley Cyrus.

Look Who Has a Crush on Carrie Underwood

When people talk about the love life of country superstar Carrie Underwood they usually mention her brief romance with Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Tony Romo and his girlfriend Jessica Simpson. Thankfully this latest report has nothing to do with the triangle, but it does appear that Carrie may have another famous fella looking to be a possible new suitor.

A report from Star has this, "If Carrie Underwood's budding romance with Travis Stork doesn't work out, there's another Bachelor who'd be happy to take his place - Andy Baldwin. Yes, another veteran of the ABC series might have eyes for Carrie.

The report notes that the reality show hunk and U.S. Navy lieutenant has had a crush on Carrie for ages, and cites a inside source for the information. The source adds, "But Travis got to her first." Recently, "Andy even dedicated a song to Carrie on the radio."

Will this be the latest triangle for Carrie Underwood? At least it would be sort Tony and Jessica and for many fans of the American idol winner that would be a welcome relief.

Dumped and dumping. Dumb teen celebs

I have no clue as to what happened for real between so-called ‘cheater Joe’ and ‘victim Taylor’.

In our previous post Not That Innocent Taylor said she was dumped by Joe, but here is what Joe got to say on his break up with .

On the ‘ official blog, Joe just posted the following:

“To Our Fans from Joe, Kevin and Nick:

It is our normal rule to avoid talking about our private lives. It seems that it has come to the point where we must address a few things. We would prefer to address these things and then leave it alone from that point forward.

We felt like it was important to respond because recent events have affected our fans. It is important to us as artists and brothers to enlighten regarding this situation. Our fans are the most important thing to us.

There are rumors and suggestions that are being publicized in the press right now about us. Like all people our age we are trying to find someone special that we can share time with in our busy lives. We all have busy schedules and high demands. We love our life and are thankful for all that we have. We are simply stating that it is difficult to maintain relationships with the kind of life we live.

We love our fans and it is important to us to protect that relationship.

To Our Fans from Joe:

This blog is not an attack of anyone. Anytime you are in a relationship for any length of time there are going to be issues. Sometimes they resolve. Other times they lead to a change of heart. This was the case recently.

Several things I will state with all my heart…

Obama's kids to appear on Hannah Montana

President-elect Barack Obama's two young daughters have been invited to appear on popular kids television show Hannah Montana, actor Billy Ray Cyrus said an interview.

Cyrus, the father of Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus and also an actor on the hit Disney Channel show, said the show had asked Malia, 10, and Sasha Obama, 7, to take part in an episode possibly around April.

"They probably will. The invitation is there," Cyrus told Access Hollywood in an interview.

"You know the Hannah Montana film comes out in April. Maybe something might happen around then."

Pressed for details, Cyrus said; "I can't, I can't. I have got to keep a secret."

Hannah Montana, in which Miley Cyrus plays a school girl with a secret life as a pop star, is one of the most popular kids television series in the United States with a huge audience and merchandising empire worth about $1 billion.

Obama has said in interviews that Malia is a big fan of Hannah Montana, but the Obamas have shielded the girls from the media and it remains to be seen whether they will want their daughters to take part in the show.

Miley Cyrus, who turns 16 later this month, told Access Hollywood she did not know for certain if the offer had gone out, but she added;

"I think that would be really cool and if anything, have them visit the set."

People Magazine: Camilla Belle and Joe Jonas

Joe Jonas sure doesn’t waste time: The singer, who recently split from Taylor Swift, has moved on and is now dating 10,000 BC actress Camilla Belle, a source tells PEOPLE.

After a rocky end to his relationship with the country darling, which Swift talked and sang about, the middle Jonas brother, 19, quietly began seeing 22-year-old Belle, who starred in the Jonas Brothers video “Lovebug.”

“They met on the set of his music video,” says the source. “All the guys always had thought she was really pretty and that’s why they asked her to be in it.”
So when did the magic happen?
“It was only after doing the video that they began to date.”
But don’t expect to see these two on red carpets together anytime soon.
“They are not public about it but they’ve just been hanging out with their friends and Joe’s brothers,” explains the source. “They are very private about it.”
So just how did Belle nab herself a Jonas Brother?
“She’s a really good girl and it seems they share a lot of the same characteristics and morals,” says the source.
Reps for Jonas and Belle had no comment.

Taylor Swift Interview

Taylor Swift recently talked to Just Jared about everything from her best friend in the business to the last three ring tones on her cell phone. Here’s a sampling:

Your album Fearless consists of mostly songs about guys. Do you prefer writing love songs or break up songs? I really like to write songs about relationships. I like to write about boys and I love to write about every aspect of love. I think that it’s really fascinating to me how many angles there are to a breakup. There are so many different things you can write about one breakup. So right now, that’s my favorite thing to write about. But also when you’re falling in love with someone, when you’ve just gone on the best date ever and you write a song about it. I think capturing that moment in time is really important and really fun. I am just fascinated by the whole relationship thing and that’s my favorite thing to write songs about.

David Archuleta: "I Was Nervous" Acting!

If singing doesn't work out for David Archuleta, he can always turn to acting!

The American Idol runner up recently shot a guest spot on Nickelodeon's iCarly (to air next Feb.) - and show star Miranda Cosgrove can't stop gushing.

"He is pretty close to my age so it was fun getting to hang out with him," Cosgrove told Usmagazine.com at the 10th Anniversary of Yoplait's Save Lids to Save Lives event in L.A. Friday.
"He was really good," continued Cosgrove, 15. "He said it was his first big acting part and he just kind of came in and we didn't even rehearse or anything. We just went for it and it went really well."Cosgrove admits even she was a little star struck to meet the Idol she voted for.
"It's funny when you watch American Idol, the people seem like such a big deal so it was weird getting to meet him in person," she said. "He is totally normal."
Remember these David Idol moments?

Archuleta, 17, plays himself on the show - but doesn't sing.

"I have a web show, and he came on the web show as a special guest," Cosgrove explained.
Archuleta says playing himself made it easy.
"I was nervous and thought I'd be awful at acting, but the whole experience felt really comfortable and came pretty easily since I was allowed to play myself," he told Us.
Does he want to do more acting?
"You do need a good memory for the dialogue, and I'll have to work on that, but it would be fun to continue acting," he said. "With iCarly, I also got to hang out with kids my own age for a change, and that was a real bonus."
Plus, Archuleta says
"I'm a huge fan of Nickelodeon....so it was especially cool to make my acting debut on a Nick show."
